A project a 9 year old can do
This one is one of my favorites because it uses real stuff
that will just go to the landfill otherwise.
My son is a cub scout
and I was asked to try to come up with woodworking project for his pack.
I thought that a gecko cage would be fun
and decided to make a pattern that I can use to make use
of all that discarded plywood
that is inevitably left over on every construction job.

There is a plentiful supply of this free material at any jobsite.
With a .little imagination and some “junk” y
one can make a bug or gecko cage like these commercially available ones

First the pieces are cut with a jig saw , then assembled

Then my son added some paint and artwork

The finished product, worthy of any bug or gecko
It turns out that the local Home Depot was having
one of their project days for kids
so instead the pack made use of that…
so as a result I have all this lumber
ready to make a gazillion cages.
I plan on selling them on Ebay.
