Building a pole house is a little more complicated than an ordinary structure. Traditionally a pole house is constructed with the poles and roof first then the interior floors and walls are built off of those poles. To reduce the cost of the construction of this home we used conventional framing methods in conjunction to pole house method. The end result is that some of the bearing falls on the conventional framed walls and some falls onto the poles and beams.
This has allowed us to reduce the cost of the framing package and save on natural resources.
Big timbers are expensive and have to be imported from Washington or Canada. If a home is designed correctly it can be both economical and environmentally friendly. At Vidana Construction we encourage building environmentally friendly.
